Oscar”Osse the Swede” Svensson.
The Lead and Rhythm guitarist of RugBurn , Moved from Sweden in the fall of 1996 to attend the Music Technical Collage of Contemporary Music and Recording Arts of Minneapolis MN.
Oscar graduated with top honors from their professional musician three year Advanced Guitar Program and still holds their Best Rock Guitar Award since 1997.
He comes with extensive experience in the field of live/session performance, live/studio engineering, stage management, band management, lighting design/lighting technician, producing, songwriting and vocals.
Oscar is a highly respected and professional musician that have shared the stage/played with such greats as Debbie Duncan, Judy Donaghy, Steve Faison, Sue Tucker, Jay Fuchs, Gordy Knudson, Terry Burns, Russ Hoffman, Brian Kinney, Krister Pihl, Todd Duane and the late Mike Elliott.
Starting out in Mpls as a hired guitarist for Jimmie and the Hibbards Oscar toured the Midwest 1996-1997 then went onto play with Montage for two years, together with Brian Menke they formed RugBurn in 1999 and played for two years all over Minnesota. In 2001 Oscar joined Hylander and played with them for five years, in early 2005 Oscar had enough of the internal conflicts and left the band.
In mid 2005 Oscar, Brian and Paul formed Minneapolis First Reality Cover Band using the RugBurn name and searched for a new singer and drummer.
During the five weeks of competition at the Star Central in Mpls. RugBurn found Jefferson Heron and Dave Boe to complete the band.
Oscar got married in May 2003 to Elly Wurzer and is during the day a stay at home father for their son Tristan who reluctantly gives him time to practice his guitar on an irregular basis.
His stage performance is very energetic, as an audience member you’ll never know what he will do on stage or off stage and that makes him one off the most interesting guitar players out there.
