Paul AKA "Izzy Paul" Remillard
Paul started
playing guitar at age 13. I washed my neighbors truck and mowed his lawn
for an entire summer to save up enough money to buy my first guitar, a $99
Sears Harmony guitar.
I took lessons from several private instructors but found I could learn
more on my own. Several
years later and a few basement bands gone by I took up studying classical
guitar for three years at the Royal Conservatory for Music in Canada where
I competed in contests placing in the top three in several and winning
first place in one.
I have co-written and recorded 3 albums, played live and have done some
sit in studio sessions for other bands. I also play in an acoustic project
that hosts a weekly jam.
I joined my first original hard rock band "Kracker Jack" in 1992. We exploded on the music scene in Winnipeg Canada getting radio play on the local rock station, we were interviewed on air and were packing the clubs like no other local band. Once Kracker Jack broke up I decided to move to Minneapolis.
I
played in the band "Would-Yu" for 5 years which morphed into
"Liquid Lies". After that run I joined "Hylander"
where I played with the Swede for about 5 years. After I left Hylander, Swede, Brian and I
decided to form
Minneapolis First Reality Cover Band!!
So here it is!
Not only did
we want to put a new twist on the band by making it a reality band and
having the audience help choose the new members but the other
"new" twist (with tone of sarcasm) that we are trying for is to
have band that has no internal turmoil, chaos, drama, he said she said
bullshit, commotion, he's talking to him about him behind his back,
pandemonium, bullshit or anything else that is destructive to a band.
We
are looking to form a band that we are all happy playing in and just want
to find a permanent band to play in AND HAVE FUN!!! "Burn" off
the weekend steam!!
This band has just begun and I feel is going to be one of the best, most energetic and entertaining bands in the Twin Cites.
